Calling Friends of Watch Me Think

What does the term ‘school trip’ bring to mind?

A tour of HMS Victory? Spending the day at Dickens World*?

Watch Me Think visiting your desk?

That’s exactly what we’ve been doing (the last one that is, no re-staging of the Battle of Trafalgar or scenes from Oliver Twist… Yet). Going out on Watch Me Think ‘school trips’ and visiting some of our clients.

Last week, for example, Unilever’s Ella Jackson (CMI) and Laura Hill (Cat Man) kindly hosted 6 of Team UK. We discussed org structure, means of contact, lanyards and all that comes between. We looked around the office, ate in the canteen and shopped in the staff shop. All granting us a better idea of what the day-to-day is like for our friends at Unilever.

Why? Simply, we’d become worthy of an Alanis Morissette song.

No one’s hand shoots up faster than ours when admitting we could do better. But, our well exercised elbow joint still didn’t prepare us for a recent sledgehammer-like realisation.

We, the consumer closeness specialists, had written our rule own book, but left it gathering dust on the shelf. We’d become so excited understanding everyone else’s users that we weren’t doing enough to properly understand our own.

Isn’t it ironic?

Now we’re looking for more who’re willing for us to visit them for an hour or so.

We want to see where you work, hear what you do and understand your average day. What do you enjoy? What are your goals? Where can we help?

Whether you’re a client or not, we know it’ll be of huge benefit.

No prep required. Just a very relaxed Q&A.

Let us know if you’re happy to have us along. We’re very well behaved, honest!

Or, if you’re really wanting get into the Watch Me Think swing, why not send us a video?

* UPDATE: It’s been brought to our attention that Dickens World is, unfortunately, no more. Devastating news.
