Synopsis

Ahhh, the golden age of pirates.

Feel the nostalgia? Nope, me neither.

But, according to this book, we should. Ignoring their pillage and plunder, they’re the innovators we should be learning from.

Legends like Henry Morgan, Blackbeard, Captain Sam Bellamy and Anne Bonny were the unicorns of their time.

They were inspired by a broken establishment which no longer served them. So, they rebelled and changed the system for good. They wrote a new social code and made a new set of rules.

And, according to history, they were 1000s of years ahead of us in doing so.

What I took from reading it

A guide to how we can be more pirate in the modern age and why we need more rebels to encourage progress for good.

And this gem: “The only thing more stupid than a stupid rule, is following it.”

Whammy.

Who should read this book

Those interested in new approaches to strategy and innovation. Or anyone with a particular interest in the history of pirates. Oooh arrr!
