Synopsis
The ever brilliant Dave Trott uses his classic formula of entertaining, true stories and punchy sentences to exemplify his points.
And his point in this book is that by seeing things differently, you can think differently.
What I took from reading it
3 main nuggets:
- “You don’t start from what you want people to do, you start from what people want to do”
- The three basic rules of advertising are impact, communicate and persuade.
- The importance of product demonstrations, but with an emotional twist. Which, now that I think about it, is probably why Trott makes every point using a story? MIND. BLOWN.
Who should read this book
This book is, of course, wearing a pair of advertising tinted glasses. So if that’s your bag, 100% crack on here. If that’s not you, but you’re interested in reading about problem solving and seeing what others do not see, it’s certainly still worth your time and is a book you can easily pick up, put down and pick up again.
Where to Buy
And just so you know, we have no affiliations. We don’t answer for nothing to no one for nothing. Apart the market research guidelines, of course. Oh, and our clients. And our mums… But certainly no book publishers, authors or stockists 🙂
