Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die

Synopsis

Why is it that some ideas, messages or stories are so memorable? Think Aesop’s fables, idioms such as ‘an eye for an eye’ and speeches like ‘I have a Dream’.

They’re timeless.

What is it that makes them so? What is it that makes them stick?

According to the Heath Brothers there is, in fact, no set formula for a sticky message. Instead, there are 6 traits common across all. And these, coincidentally, fall into the mnemonic ‘SUCCESS’.

What I took from reading it

The curiosity gap. And us needing to pry it open before we close it, that way the reader is left wanting to find out more.

Like what we did there? 😉
