Ian Leslie: The power of honesty and curiosity

email Alistair if you need the password.

The art of storytelling lies in giving your audience just enough information that they want to find out more. And then at every turning point, giving them some of the information you were withholding.

Each turning point hooks curiosity, the audience wonders what will happen next.

There’s also another storytelling art in play. In today’s transparent world, brands have nowhere to hide their dirty laundry. But honesty in storytelling is more than an ethical imperative, it’s a creative and business opportunity.

Drawing on examples from film, TV and literature, Ian explains how we can use the curiosity gap and honesty to become better storytellers.
